One connection panel instead of a box of cables
In meeting, training and presentation rooms, technology rarely fails because of the technology. It fails because the guest arrives with a different laptop than the colleague did yesterday. A permanently installed connection panel with the right sockets solves that for good – and incidentally looks better than a bundle of loose cables.
Typical places of use
- Meeting room – a table connection panel for laptop and display
- Training and seminars – fixed handover points for changing presenters
- Trade fair stands and shopfitting – connections inside the furniture, the technology invisible
- Digital signage – permanent cabling behind the screen
- Reception and foyer – a clean look where technology is publicly accessible
Which sockets do you really need?
The honest answer: usually more than one. Anyone providing only HDMI today will have the guest with USB-C tomorrow. Our recommendation for a future-proof panel:
- HDMI – still the standard for projectors and displays
- USB-C or DisplayPort – for newer laptops
- RJ45 (CAT 6a) – wherever Wi-Fi is not reliable enough
- USB 3.0 – for a camera, microphone or conference speakerphone
- 3.5 mm jack – the pragmatic fallback for audio
With the Keystone system you combine these connectors freely in one frame and can swap individual modules later without touching the installation.
What we have learned from projects
Plan for one connector more than you need
An additional Keystone module costs little. A wall that has to be opened up afterwards costs a great deal.
Think about the rear side
There is often less space behind the panel than expected – especially in shallow furniture and floor boxes. Flat adapter cables and angled versions save the project here.
Label the sockets
It sounds banal, but it saves time in every meeting. With several similar connectors it is the difference between "it works" and "let us just find it".
Do not forget the audio
The picture is usually sorted quickly, the sound often gets overlooked. For permanent audio we offer ceiling and in-wall speakers as well as Bluetooth amplifiers that can be integrated invisibly.
