Speaker Cables
Speaker Cables – Sold by the Metre for Hi-Fi and Home Cinema
Good sound doesn't start at the amplifier or speaker – the connection in between plays an important role too. In this category you'll find speaker cables sold by the metre in various cross-sections and quality levels: from a solid budget cable for everyday use to OFC copper cable (Oxygen-Free Copper) for more demanding Hi-Fi systems.
Which cross-section is right?
As a rule of thumb: for short cable runs up to about 3 metres, 0.75 mm² is usually sufficient. From 3 to 10 metres we recommend 1.5 mm²; for longer runs or low-impedance speakers (4 Ω) it should be 2.5 mm². Too small a cross-section increases resistance and can cost you dynamics and treble clarity.
Why OFC copper?
OFC stands for oxygen-free copper with particularly high conductivity and resistance to oxidation. Compared directly with standard copper cables, larger systems and longer cable runs benefit most – the sound impression remains stable even over the years.
All cables are calculated by the metre as needed – so you pay exactly for what you really need.
