The integrated protective circuit prevents other consumers in your vehicle from being switched on via the switch. In position I the radio is switched on; position O indicates that the radio is switched off - provided the ignition is not on. Retrofitting your vehicle with this useful helper is no problem with a little skill.
IMPORTANT: Please ensure that your car battery is not excessively discharged during prolonged radio operation if it is not being recharged via an external power source (e.g. shore power, solar) or while the engine is running.
