LYNDAHL CS120AL Design 2-way ceiling loudspeaker pair, 120mm, aluminium.

The high-quality ceiling loudspeakers from LYNDAHL are the ideal addition to all modern ceiling systems. They can be combined with LED downlights to give your home or any other location a modern and stylish ambience. The chassis of the ceiling speakers is made of high-quality, white lacquered aluminium. The cleanly turned aluminium edges blend in perfectly with other metal surfaces.

The ceiling into which the speakers are to be integrated can be easily prepared as required using the template supplied. The ceiling speakers can then be inserted into the ceiling easily and without tools. The spring arms mounted on the aluminium cage ensure that the speakers are held securely in the ceiling panelling.

The LYNDAHL ceiling loudspeakers can be used in a variety of ways - for example in combination with amplifiers. The Lyndahl ® 4-channel Bluetooth amplifier AMP4X15BT, which is designed for up to four speakers, can be used for this purpose. Attention: These ceiling speakers are not suitable for use in damp rooms or outdoors!

Frequently asked questions about this product

How small is the installation really — and what does that mean for the sound?

The CS120AL needs only about 106 mm of ceiling cut-out at 63 mm depth — the smallest installation in the range. It is more than sufficient for background music, but by design has audibly less bass than the 5.25-inch class.

Can I connect several speakers or pairs to one amplifier?

In principle yes — impedance is the deciding factor. Both channels should carry the same load, and the total impedance must not fall below the amplifier minimum: with identical speakers, parallel wiring halves the value, series wiring doubles it. The AMP4X15BT is designed for four speakers out of the box.

How large does the ceiling cut-out need to be?

Guide values: CS200P template 180 mm (min. approx. 172 mm), CS200S 176 mm, CS180IP 135–137 mm, CS195ST 174 mm, CS120AL 106 mm; mounting depths 63–85 mm. The cutting template included in the box is always authoritative — if you print a PDF template, measure the inner circle first.

May the speaker go into the bathroom or outdoors?

Into the bathroom, in principle yes — as long as no water spray hits the speaker directly and the room is ventilated normally. Closer to the water and in covered outdoor areas, the CS180IP with IP44 protection is the right choice. We give no approval for saunas — adhesive joints come apart there.

Which speaker cable should I use, and how do I connect it cleanly?

For new runs use 1 to 2.5 mm²; the amplifier-to-speaker run should not much exceed 10 m. Extending by twisting or with a terminal block is fine — just get the polarity right. Bare strands fray: ferrules for clamp terminals, banana plugs or spades for binding posts.

How much bass does a built-in speaker deliver?

Less than a floorstander, more than most people expect — what decides it is cone area and the air volume behind the driver. The same driver sounds leaner in an open ceiling void than in a closed cavity; a back box or an insulated suspended ceiling audibly adds foundation. Mounted close to a wall or a corner you gain further low end. If you really want punch, a compact speaker such as the SB242M on the wall or a separate subwoofer is the honest route rather than more watts — power is no substitute for cone area.
