The high-quality ceiling speakers from LYNDAHL are the ideal addition to all modern ceiling systems and offer a first-class music experience. They are particularly suitable for outdoor use, for example on your patio, or in damp rooms such as swimming pools or bathrooms.

The ceiling into which the speakers are to be installed can be easily prepared as required using the template supplied. The ceiling loudspeakers can then be simply inserted into the ceiling.

The LYNDAHL ceiling loudspeakers can be used in a variety of ways - for example in combination with amplifiers. The Lyndahl ® 4-channel Bluetooth amplifier AMP4X15BT, which is designed for up to four speakers, can be used for this purpose.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Is the CS180IP really suitable for bathrooms and outdoors?

Yes — it is rated IP44 for damp rooms and suits bathrooms, kitchens or covered terraces. IP44 means splash protection, not a dive rating: direct jets of water and unprotected outdoor exposure are off limits, and the amplifier always belongs in a dry area.

How is the CS180IP mounted, and which dimensions do I need?

Unlike the other models, the CS180IP is screwed rather than clamped. Ceiling cut-out: approx. 135–137 mm, mounting depth around 63 mm — the template included in the box is authoritative.

Can I connect several speakers or pairs to one amplifier?

In principle yes — impedance is the deciding factor. Both channels should carry the same load, and the total impedance must not fall below the amplifier minimum: with identical speakers, parallel wiring halves the value, series wiring doubles it. The AMP4X15BT is designed for four speakers out of the box.

Which speaker cable should I use, and how do I connect it cleanly?

For new runs use 1 to 2.5 mm²; the amplifier-to-speaker run should not much exceed 10 m. Extending by twisting or with a terminal block is fine — just get the polarity right. Bare strands fray: ferrules for clamp terminals, banana plugs or spades for binding posts.

How many watts do I really need?

Fewer than the numbers suggest: there is no direct relationship between wattage and sound — low notes need diaphragm area, not watts. Two speakers cover about 40 m² well, four are enough for around 75 m² of background sound.

How much bass does a built-in speaker deliver?

Less than a floorstander, more than most people expect — what decides it is cone area and the air volume behind the driver. The same driver sounds leaner in an open ceiling void than in a closed cavity; a back box or an insulated suspended ceiling audibly adds foundation. Mounted close to a wall or a corner you gain further low end. If you really want punch, a compact speaker such as the SB242M on the wall or a separate subwoofer is the honest route rather than more watts — power is no substitute for cone area.
