Product description

The CS200BT MKII from Lyndahl is a high-quality 2-way active loudspeaker system for playing music via Bluetooth.

When not in use, the speakers automatically go into sleep mode. The system is then simply reactivated by a Bluetooth-enabled device. Connected within seconds, you can conveniently play your music collection from your smartphone or tablet, for example. Pairing can be done automatically.

The combination of a 135 mm woofer together with a 25 mm tweeter ensures a full and differentiated sound image. The powerful class D amplifier delivers a full 80 watts of music power.

But comfort is not only offered in terms of music. The installation in a false ceiling or wall creates a space gain that should not be underestimated. This opens up completely new possibilities for rooms with limited floor space!

The stereo sound system can be installed in ceilings, walls or other wooden spaces in just a few steps. A template is supplied for precise cut-outs. After connecting the cables for the speakers and power, the power supply unit is stowed away in the space and the speakers are inserted into the cut-outs. They are attached to the speaker housing using swivel hooks, which are designed for a material thickness of up to 30 mm.

Designed entirely for the future medium of Bluetooth, the Lyndahl CS200BT offers a clever alternative to a hi-fi stereo system.

Changes to version MKII:

- ‘Welcome Sound’ significantly quieter

- Pairing set to standard ‘0000’ (for auto-pairing)

- Revised loudspeaker basket

- Improved electronics

Frequently asked questions about this product

Can I connect external devices or additional speakers to the CS200BT?

No — the CS200BT is deliberately a closed system: music comes exclusively via Bluetooth, there is no AUX input, and additional speakers cannot be connected. If you want cable sources or up to four speakers, choose the AMP4X15BT amplifier with passive speakers.

Bluetooth will not connect — what can I do? What is the PIN?

Depending on the year of manufacture the code is 1423 (first generation) or 0000, current devices pair without a PIN prompt. The most common cause of failure: a previously paired device still occupies the speaker — disconnect it there, or briefly cut the power to force search mode.

How do I stop neighbours or pupils from connecting?

While you are actively playing, the device is locked against third parties. The most reliable protection is a remote-controlled socket or an in-line switch: power only when needed — pairings are retained. In schools and offices, wired playback via AUX is the most robust solution.

My CS200BT has no sound or can no longer be found — what now?

The blue LED tells you a lot: if it lights or flashes, the power supply is fine and the Bluetooth board is usually the cause — it can be replaced yourself with a few screws and is available as an inexpensive spare part, as is the power supply. Within the two-year warranty period we replace parts free of charge.

Can I connect the CS200BT to a normal amplifier later?

Yes. The active speaker can be converted into a passive one: the internal cable is disconnected from the Bluetooth board and the external amplifier is wired directly — just mind the polarity.

How large does the ceiling cut-out need to be?

Guide values: CS200P template 180 mm (min. approx. 172 mm), CS200S 176 mm, CS180IP 135–137 mm, CS195ST 174 mm, CS120AL 106 mm; mounting depths 63–85 mm. The cutting template included in the box is always authoritative — if you print a PDF template, measure the inner circle first.

May the speaker go into the bathroom or outdoors?

Into the bathroom, in principle yes — as long as no water spray hits the speaker directly and the room is ventilated normally. Closer to the water and in covered outdoor areas, the CS180IP with IP44 protection is the right choice. We give no approval for saunas — adhesive joints come apart there.

How much bass does a built-in speaker deliver?

Less than a floorstander, more than most people expect — what decides it is cone area and the air volume behind the driver. The same driver sounds leaner in an open ceiling void than in a closed cavity; a back box or an insulated suspended ceiling audibly adds foundation. Mounted close to a wall or a corner you gain further low end. If you really want punch, a compact speaker such as the SB242M on the wall or a separate subwoofer is the honest route rather than more watts — power is no substitute for cone area.
