The Lyndahl set consists of the CS180IP 2-way ceiling speaker pair and the AMP4X15BT Bluetooth 4-channel amplifier.

CS180IP:
The Lyndahl ® CS180IP 2-way in-ceiling speaker is suitable for installation in damp rooms or e.g. terraces. The Lyndahl ® CS180IP can be used universally with many amplifiers and is ideally suited for combination with the Lyndahl ® 4-channel Bluetooth amplifier AMP4X15BT, to which up to four speakers can be connected.

AMP4X15BT:
The LYNDAHL Bluetooth 4-channel + AUX amplifier AMP4X15BT is suitable for music playback via up to four speakers. These are each operated via their own amplifier channel. An additional music source, such as a CD player, can be connected to the AUX input. As soon as you start playback, the amplifier switches on automatically. The sine wave power of the AMP4X15BT is 60 W.

Due to the small size of the amplifier and its low heat generation, it can be easily "hidden" in false ceilings or furniture.

The scope of delivery includes the AMP4X15BT amplifier module, CS180IP speakers, installation template, a 12V energy-saving power supply unit, two 4-pin connectors, four speaker cables and the German operating instructions.

The set is available with either 2 or 4 speakers; please make the appropriate selection.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Can I change the Bluetooth name or PIN of the amplifier?

Not after purchase — the chip is sealed at the factory. For current production batches we can programme a custom name and password before dispatch on request; older versions (MKII/MKIII) could be reprogrammed at the factory. Depending on the year of manufacture, the code is 1423, 0000, or there is no PIN prompt at all.

How do I stop neighbours or pupils from connecting?

While you are actively playing, the device is locked against third parties. The most reliable protection is a remote-controlled socket or an in-line switch: power only when needed — pairings are retained. In schools and offices, wired playback via AUX is the most robust solution.

How do I get the TV sound onto the speakers?

Via Bluetooth or — more robustly — via a jack cable into the AUX input; the TV needs a headphone or adjustable audio output for this. Important: Bluetooth takes priority as soon as something actively plays there; a merely connected but silent device does not disturb AUX playback.

Why does it hum, or why does the amplifier not go into standby?

The AUX input is very sensitive: even the tiny residual voltage many sources leave on their output in standby keeps the amplifier awake — sometimes with audible hum or hiss. Test: unplug the AUX cable. Remedies: a well-shielded cable, the same mains circuit, a jack cable with volume control, or an in-line switch.

Does it work with Alexa, Google or my smart TV?

It presents itself as a normal Bluetooth audio device and therefore generally works with Echo, Google devices and TVs. We deliberately give no guarantee — manufacturer software updates have repeatedly broken pairings. The most stable solution is a jack cable into the AUX input; there is no Alexa skill.

Does the amplifier run on 12 V (motorhome, boat)?

In principle yes — it was originally conceived for caravan equipment; its voltage regulator tolerates about 15 V at most, so a stable 14.6 V LiFePO4 supply is uncritical. On a raw on-board network use a stabilised supply of at least 3 A — starting and charging produce voltage spikes the device is not protected against.

Can I connect several speakers or pairs to one amplifier?

In principle yes — impedance is the deciding factor. Both channels should carry the same load, and the total impedance must not fall below the amplifier minimum: with identical speakers, parallel wiring halves the value, series wiring doubles it. The AMP4X15BT is designed for four speakers out of the box.

How large does the ceiling cut-out need to be?

Guide values: CS200P template 180 mm (min. approx. 172 mm), CS200S 176 mm, CS180IP 135–137 mm, CS195ST 174 mm, CS120AL 106 mm; mounting depths 63–85 mm. The cutting template included in the box is always authoritative — if you print a PDF template, measure the inner circle first.

How much bass does a built-in speaker deliver?

Less than a floorstander, more than most people expect — what decides it is cone area and the air volume behind the driver. The same driver sounds leaner in an open ceiling void than in a closed cavity; a back box or an insulated suspended ceiling audibly adds foundation. Mounted close to a wall or a corner you gain further low end. If you really want punch, a compact speaker such as the SB242M on the wall or a separate subwoofer is the honest route rather than more watts — power is no substitute for cone area.
